Angela's Story
“I am a chameleon nurse and I am extremely proud of that skill for what it allows me to do with my clients.” Whilst being a chameleon is a form of masking, in nursing, it has been a vital trait that has helped Angela, aka Ange, to develop a therapeutic relationship with her clients. Rather than being exhausting, she says that being a chameleon is invigorating as it plays to her strengths and allows her to fully immerse herself, without bias, in the needs of her clients, regardless of what intersections come together to make the whole.
Ange is a fierce human disability & education rights advocate and stakeholder manager. She is a leader in the health industry with 30+ years experience as a registered nurse and clinical educator. She is the founder and CEO of NDC and Umbrella Alliance and a MyXXY Brand Ambassador. A proud Autistic, Dyslexic, & ADHD’er, (as well as Dysgraphic & Dyscalculic), Ange is also an annoyed—they will say annoying—mother of five and G’ma to three rugrats. Get her talking about Henrik and she’s like a teenager all over again. She really loves that man! In her free time, you might find her bushwalking, hiking, and traveling the globe. Ange offers 1-1 coaching, clinical nurse consulting, and health & education navigation for neurodivergent individuals and families.
